Artistic bio - "Faces"

The first artistic period of Marie-Lydie Joffre consists of a series of feminine portraits, stripped of any ornament, in an ascetic sobriety softened by the smooth texture of pastel.

Marie-Lydie Joffre describes this period as an internal "face-to-face" with herself, using those long silent faces as a way to assert herself while at the same time guarding her secrecy.
